“Oh!” is a captivating drawing application crafted by Louis Rigaud and Anouck Boisrobert, inspired by their pop-up book “Oh! mon chapeau,” published by hélium in France. The app invites young users into a vibrant world where ten colored shapes glide across the screen, awaiting transformation into whimsical drawings.

The experience begins with an engaging introduction featuring mischievous shapes that leap from a hat and align along the screen's edge. Players are encouraged to slide these shapes into the center, triggering delightful animations that breathe life into their creations—trees sprout, cats meow, and dancers twirl. The app emphasizes creativity; a triangle can morph into various objects or characters depending on the child’s imagination.

The design cleverly divides the screen with a horizon line, offering players distinct choices for shape transformation—above, users may create buildings or flying objects; below, they can animate characters and vehicles. A concise tutorial guides players through the myriad possibilities, allowing them to create animated scenes brimming with personalization—be it a pink moon or a vibrant forest teeming with joyful characters.

The app surprises users when the device is rotated; the scene reconfigures itself into a portrait layout, captivating children with shifting perspectives and accompanying light music that enhances the overall experience.

Upon completion of their creation, players can capture their animated scenes as images for personal keepsakes or to share with friends. Developed over two years, “Oh!” integrates animation, music, and illustration harmoniously. For accessibility, the creators have adopted a pay-what-you-want model after a free download, allowing users to contribute between €0.99 to €9.99 based on their satisfaction. This grants greater flexibility in accessibility while encouraging creative exploration among young audiences.
